Why magnesium bisglycinate?
Forms of magnesium differ significantly in how well they are absorbed by the body and how they affect the digestive system:
- Magnesium oxide — inexpensive but poorly absorbed, largely having a laxative effect in the digestive tract
- Magnesium citrate — better absorbed, but can have a laxative effect in larger doses
- Magnesium bisglycinate — magnesium is bound to two glycine molecules (an amino acid), which allows the mineral to pass through the intestinal mucosa via amino acid transporters — resulting in high absorption without burdening the digestive system. Additionally, glycine itself is known for the calming effect it has on the mind and body — complementing the action of magnesium
Magnesium bisglycinate is particularly suitable for those who require higher doses of magnesium, have a sensitive digestive system, or wish to take magnesium in the evening before bed without abdominal issues.
Why L-theanine?
L-theanine is an amino acid naturally found in green tea. Unlike coffee or energy drinks, L-theanine does not cause drowsiness or overstimulation while increasing alertness — it promotes the production of alpha brain waves, which are associated with a calm, focused state of mind (similar to moments of deep relaxation). L-theanine also supports GABA production, which helps the nervous system to calm down. Together with magnesium, this combination forms one of the most studied pairs for supporting sleep and stress management.
Why Royal Jelly?
Royal Jelly is a food produced by bees exclusively for feeding the queen bee — it is the substance that allows the queen to live up to 40 times longer than a worker bee and remain constantly productive. Royal Jelly contains a unique fatty acid, 10-HDA (“queen bee acid”), not found elsewhere in nature, and acetylcholine — a neurotransmitter that plays a role in regulating sleep, memory, and nervous system balance. Many of our customers have described its calming and mood-supporting effects in their daily lives.
